Christmas Eve

Since Christmas Day fell on a Sunday, our church staff decided to not have Sunday morning services, and instead have a Saturday night Christmas Eve celebration. I had the privilege of organizing/planning the service. Only problem is a large part of we wanted was a children's musical performance, and I'm far from musical. It turned out amazing anyway, and it was a really special and memorable night.

The pre-k and Kindergarten kids had two songs to perform, and I had told the older tiny tot parents that their children were welcome to perform too. Aubri and I sang Happy Birthday Jesus and Away in the manger the whole week before and she was soooo excited to sing. There were so many littles up there singing it was hilarious! Some kids knew every word and sang very loud, others just stood there without a clue what was going on, and others stole the show singing directly in the microphone. It was awesome! Aubri sang off and on, mostly distracted by all that was going on. She and her best bud Canaan hung out close together.

After the little kids, the older kids took their turn. I felt bad that so few of them showed up, but I was SO proud at how well they sang. The congregation joined in to help them, and it worked out great.

A few of our Jr. High and High School kids memorized parts of Luke 2 and recited it. I was so proud!!

After a short, but great message from our pastor, we ended the service with a candle lighting and singing of Silent Night. Beautiful!!

Everyone seemed to love the service, and I wouldn't mind if it became our tradition!
