Aubri has the best big cousins ever, who love her and spoil her. She spends lots of time with them, and Jose and I have been noticing her copying phrases the big girls say. Like when I took her potty she said, "I hear a tinkle tinkle!" She told me herself that Savannah says that. I'm pretty sure Savannah also taught her "Look out a monster....ahhhh!" This week she also told me "Dude, check this out!" Don'w know where she learned that one!
We have started practicing her letters and she can recognize most of them. She points out letters all over now. "Look my letter A for Aubri!" She is a pro at spotting A for Aubri, B for brother, C for cookie, M for Marlene and Mom, J for Jose, Uncle Jesse and Jasen (sometimes she says J for Daddy instead of Jose),
and my favorite mistake she makes "K for Uncle!" She means K for Karlos her uncle.
This morning we ran to Trader Joes (still Aubri's favorite store). Ezra decided he was very hungry, so before we drove home I nursed him in the car. Aubri did a great job keeping herself entertained and was pointing out all the letters she saw in the big Trader Joes sign. She read "T" and we said for tiger and Tapia. Aubri said, "Tapia for your name!"
I replied," No, my last name used to be Tapia now it is Velazquez."
"Why's it Velazquez?"
"When I married daddy I got to change my last name to his name."
Aubri floored me and made me laugh out loud when she said, "I'm going change my name at Hawaii!"
"Your going to change your name in Hawaii??"
Aubri said, "I'm going to change my name and get married at Hawaii!"
We better start saving! (I think she came up with that because she has seen pictures of a wedding we went to in Hawaii).
A recent conversation heard in our house after the rodeo....
Me: "goodnight my little cowgirl!"
Aubri: "goodnight my big cow mommy." Should I be offended? ;-)
And today...
Me: I love you Aubri
Aubri: I love you Mom. We are best friends now!
I can't believe how fast she is growing. In 7 weeks she will be 2 1/2!!
