Great news!

We got an update from a co-worker who visited Ashley. Sounds like everyone is doing great!

"Last night, I went to the hospital to send all of our best wishes to Ashley's family. Her mom, Terrie, brought me in to see Ashley who had come out of surgery for the third time hours before. Ashley looked well in spite of what she has gone through. Her spirits are up, she was smiling, and ready to eat! She hadn't seen baby "Mad-dog" (Ashley's mom's nickname for him already!) but was going to see him last night for the first time since he was born. Maddux was born on Sunday 3/29 at 9:13 am (I think that's what was written on the picture I saw) and weighed 5 lbs 6 oz. He went through his surgery well. He has to stay for at least 5 days to make sure there is no leakage.

Ashley was happy to hear we were all thinking about her...and it was a comfort for her to have lots and lots of people at the hospital to support her and all of you having her and Baby maddux in your thoughts...."

After hearing more details of what happened, it is truly amazing that they are doing great. Hearing about Ashley really hit me hard. It seems so unreal that a friend of ours ALMOST DIED giving birth. I can't stop thinking about risks and love and faith. I have a million thoughts jumbled in my head and when I make sense of it all I may try to write my thoughts on it. For now I'm just resting in the knowledge that our God is good, He is faithful, and He heals!
