Out on the grass
Last week I took Aubriella out to play on the grass. She has been out there a few times, but this time she was really in to checking the grass out...

So much so that she face planted into it and the grass left little cuts all over her face! Poor thing looked like she had been in a fight. I felt SO bad, but she didn't

even seem to care!
I ended up heading back inside where it is safer! Haha!
It is so hard already as a parent wanting to keep your child safe, but wanting her to learn and explore. Thankfully we haven't had any serious injuries, but every little face plant, or topple over onto something hard makes me feel bad for her. In a split second she's gotten a paper cut , bump on her head, almost fell off the bed (no excuse for that one!) and so many other things. I know this is just the beginning of her falls, but I know when she hurts, I'll hurt. Today in my Bible Study I read about sonship (and daughtership!) to God. Being a parent now is helping me grasp a little more of what it means to be a Child of God, and I'm starting to see a little more of his heart for me. It is humbling to say the least!

Our Family Moments Captured

We had a great family photo session TWO MONTHS ago (I'm a little late!) at Sycamore Mineral Springs. For mother's day we surprised my mom with a gift certificate for Moments Captured photography. My mom has wanted a family portrait for years and years...since the days of khaki and white t-shirts on the beach (We had a tiny glitch when I tried breaking the news to her that those are so outdated). Our photographer Christina met us in the middle and did traditional poses (like my mom wanted) at an alternative location. Because these pictures were so anticipated, I think my entire family was a little on edge to not blow it for my mom. We thought we had to have the right amount of playfulness, seriousness, naturalness...poor Christina, I don't think she had a clue what we were coming into the shoot with! I think they came out great, and now that we realized how easy it really is to book an appointment and how reasonably priced they are I don't think we will wait another 12 years to do it again!

Summer Love
This summer has seemed unusually chilly to me. We've only had a handful of days that hit the 80's, and most days Aubri and I are wearing sweaters. Aubriella has so many cute summer clothes, but she has really only been able to wear during our week in Hawaii. I was so excited a couple weeks back when the sun was out! Aubriella got to wear this outfit Jose and I bought for her before
she was born!

The sun was a little too bright for her eyes!

Jose was home for lunch, and we had a blast having Aubriella crawl from one of us to the other!

Breakfast with Daddy
Aubriella's sleep habits have not been very good lately....but that is a different topic for a different post. A few mornings she has woken up early enough to spend time with daddy. Jose had been kind enough to take her downstairs with him so I can sleep a little longer. From what I hear she sits in his lap while he reads his Bible (she only tries to eat the pages some days) and hangs out with him while he eats breakfast.
One morning I came downstairs and saw her having breakfast with her daddy. I thought my little bed head looked too cute I had to take a picture!
Beauty Shop
Aubriella and I had a "girls night" when Jose went to the Destruction Derby. I attempted to play with her hair and see if it was long enough to put in pig tails. This is no small feat! 1. I'm not very good at doing hair 2. She Does. Not. Sit. Still. Oh my word she is becoming quite the little wiggle worm, and so many times I had to stop or else I'd yank her hair out from her twisting around.
Here are the goofy results. I think she looks adorable no matter what, but we won't be sporting these new do's in public quite yet!

On the Go!
Aubriella has started her version of crawling! She gets up on all fours, moves each knee forward (looks like a perfect crawl at this point), then lunges forward, belly flops, and starts back up on all fours! It may not be very graceful, but she can get from point A to point B. And can now get into things!
